1. Benefit (n) Definition: a good or helpful result or effect Example Sentence: There are many health benefits that come from exercise and healthy eating.
2. Benevolent (adj) Definition- kind and generous; organized to do good things for others Example sentence: Thanks to a benevolent donor, our school’s art program will continue for the next three years.
3. Benign (adj) Definition- not causing harm or damage; mile, gentle, or pleasant Example sentence: We were relieved when the vey told us that our dog’s tumor was benign and that he would continue to live a happy, healthy life.
4. Bona fide (adj) Definition- real or genuine; made or done in an honest and sincere way Example sentence: Once the band’s song went viral, they became bona fide celebrities.
5. Malice (n) Definition- a desire to cause harm to another person Example sentence: Her cruel practical joke was just one example of the malice she had for others.
6. Malign (v) Definition- to say bad things about someone or something publicly; to criticize harshly or unfairly Example sentence: If his opponents malign the politician, he might not win the race for governor.
7. Malcontent (n) Definition- a person who is always or often unhappy or angry about something Example sentence: Jake is quite the malcontent who complains constantly and is never satisfied.
8. Malfunction (v) Definition: to fail to function or work properly Example sentence: An electrical malfunction caused our school to lose power for over an hour.
9. Dysfunction (n) Definition: the condition of having poor or unhealthy behaviors and attitudes within a group of people; the state of being unable to function in a normal way Example sentence: If there is dysfunction in the work place, employees will be unhappy and it will be difficult to get any work completed.
10. Dysentery (n) Definition: a serious disease that causes severe diarrhea and a loss of blood Example sentence: With no clean drinking water available, many people from the village became sick with dysentery.
