Night of the Notables A cross-curricular research project between Language Arts and Social Studies

Night of the Notables showcases people from the Eastern Hemisphere and their critical role in history. Here are some 2011 notables.

Here are some sample boards from Night of the Notables 2012.

Grace Meluso portrays Queen Isabella

After extensive research, all seventh grade students celebrate with a Night of the Notables. Adelita Aguirre at the 2011 Night of the Notables

Students dress up for the special night. These are sample costumes students wore; some were simple, some elaborate.

During Night of the Notables, parents, community members, and friends interact with the notables. Guests receive a list of questions to ask you. Be prepared!

You are the teacher! Information will be memorized. We will practice before-hand.

Students will analyze and synthesize information from their research. You will present information through the multiple intelligences.

Board requirements are tweaked a bit every year as we continuously improve.

Students must remain in character. You will elaborate on your long- lasting impact and contributions to society.

Sometimes females portray males. Jasmine chose to portray Galileo’s timeline as viewed through his telescope. How will you show your creativity?

It’s a time to convince, communicate, and celebrate with hundreds of guests!

Notables answer all questions in first-person. Critical analysis of research and lots of practice allow you to speak confidently and fluently.
