Student Satisfaction Geneva College Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI: Noel-Levitz) 1997 to 2013

Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI) SSI is a measure of the Importance vs. Satisfaction on a number of college experiences. Students rate each item/experience on a scale from, one to seven, for both importance and satisfaction. Scores are developed based upon student response. 83 questions in all, including institutional questions.

Methodological Issues Comparison Groups:  Geneva  CCCU (from 21 to 83 schools)  4 – year privates (from 231 to 437 schools) What is a “significant” difference?  Bounce around across scales and years  Roughly, differences of 0.15 and higher are statistically significant.

Use of the Data Comparison information (Geneva, CCCU & Four year privates). 12 scales that give an overview. Two types of data  Satisfaction scores by themselves  Satisfaction/Importance ‘gap’ scores Focus group information.

Recruitment and Financial Aid 4. Admissions staff are knowledgeable. 5. Financial aid counselors are helpful. 12. Financial aid awards are announced to students in time to be helpful in college planning. 17. Adequate financial aid is available for most students. 43. Admissions counselors respond to prospective students' unique needs and requests. 48. Admissions counselors accurately portray the campus in their recruiting practices.

Nearly all of the faculty are knowledgeable in their field. 69. There is a good variety of courses provided on this campus. 70. Graduate teaching assistants are competent as classroom instructors.
