Self Portrait

Inventory: “Tree Study” AP Studio Study # 1 Photo manipulated in Photoshop CS Name Address Town, Zip Phone IMMACULATE HEART ACADEMY Class of Van Emburgh Ave Township of Washington, NJ (201) Inventory Description My goal for this self portrait began with scans of my head and hands. From about 10 I culled several which worked well together. Working in Photoshop CS I was able to manipulate the images into a concrete and unified whole. After completing this I went back into Photoshop and began to experiment further with bending the colors and altering the color and feel for the portrait in different ways.

Curriculum Vitae

Inventory: “Tree Study” AP Studio Study Photo manipulated in Photoshop CS # 2 Name Address Town, Zip Phone IMMACULATE HEART ACADEMY Class of Van Emburgh Ave Township of Washington, NJ (201) Inventory Description Rather than having a typical resume as required by the Guidance Department, this one includes examples of recent significant works. We first worked on the written content, followed by alternating between the negative space and placement of the works of art on a unified page. All together this makes a very impressive piece of paper for handout at university interviews or inclusion with my guidance councelor’s letter of recommendation.

Inventory: # 3 “Tree Study” AP Studio Study Photo manipulated in Photoshop CS Name Address Town, Zip Phone IMMACULATE HEART ACADEMY Class of Van Emburgh Ave Township of Washington, NJ (201) Inventory Description My goal for this tree study was to show a starting point of a very gestured, hard-edged shape to an ending point of an abstract, flowing image. I wanted each tree to flow into the next without losing their individuality. The original tree is made out of cut paper and the last four use that image and have been manipulated by Photoshop CS.

Inventory: # 4 “Daydreaming” 3-D Art Name Address Town, Zip Phone IMMACULATE HEART ACADEMY Class of Van Emburgh Ave Township of Washington, NJ (201) Inventory Description This piece was originally intended to be a very extreme, abstract stabile. However, my ideas became more realistic when I decided I wanted the stabile to be about a girl thinking- and all of the thoughts that are floating above her head. I loved the idea of having each dream to be suspended above her head to create such a dramatic effect. The entire piece is made of foam core.

Inventory: #5 “Carnival” Design Name Address Town, Zip Phone IMMACULATE HEART ACADEMY Class of Van Emburgh Ave Township of Washington, NJ (201) Inventory Description This design was created using cut paper. I wanted to make a design that caught the eye with color and the use of perspective. I loved the idea of creating a design that could show a carnival ride from an angle that made the passengers almost pop out towards the viewer.

Inventory: #6 “Audrey Hepburn look alike” Digital Photography Photo manipulated in Photoshop CS Name Address Town, Zip Phone IMMACULATE HEART ACADEMY Class of Van Emburgh Ave Township of Washington, NJ (201) Inventory Description The goal of this project was to select a picture of a known person; in a piece of artwork or an actual celebrity- that we could merge out of our own faces into the original picture so that it would create the illusion that you were looking at the same picture. This photo was manipulated by Photoshop CS.

Inventory: #7 “St. Eulalia” Studio Stained Glass Window Photo manipulated in Photoshop CS Name Address Town, Zip Phone IMMACULATE HEART ACADEMY Class of Van Emburgh Ave Township of Washington, NJ (201) Inventory Description My stained glass window is in honor of St. Eulalia. St. Eulalia is the patron saint of sailors, so I wanted to draw a design that would portray that she was actually hovering over the ships in a form of protection. I first created the design using colored pencils and then went in to scan it into being manipulated by Photoshop CS.

Written Inventory: #8 “Jerome” Digital Photography Photo manipulated in Photoshop CS Name Address Town, Zip Phone IMMACULATE HEART ACADEMY Class of Van Emburgh Ave Township of Washington, NJ (201) Inventory Description This photo was taken in Jerome, Arizona. My goal for the shot was to show how just a simple setting and simple subject matter can make a very interesting and lively picture. I think that the purple color to the chairs make the picture pop and draws your eye around the picture. The only manipulation done to this photo was to crop and push contrast with Adobe Photoshop CS.

Inventory: #9 “Road map of the body” Studio Map Study Photo manipulated in Photoshop CS Name Address Town, Zip Phone IMMACULATE HEART ACADEMY Class of Van Emburgh Ave Township of Washington, NJ (201) Inventory Description I intended to create an image that had the viewer see one basic interpretation when they first look at it, but then as they looked closer and examined ir fully, it had a deeper and more complex interpretation. When I look at the finished product, I think that I accomplished my set goals and carried out my intended ideas. I wanted to make it strictly black and white because I wanted there to be an extreme contradiction and contrast between the black veins, bones, and cavities of the body against the stark white background; creating an image that resembled an X-Ray. In manipulating this image in Photoshop CS, I first got the human chest X-Ray picture and merged it with the human skull X-ray picture. Then I took my map route shape and layered each individual shape in different sizes, widths, and lengths to make the appearance of veins throughout the body. Lastly, I pushed the contrast to the entire image.

Inventory: #10 “IHA watercolor” Studio Art Dana Novello 240 Poplar Avenue Hackensack NJ (201) IMMACULATE HEART ACADEMY Class of Van Emburgh Ave Township of Washington, NJ (201) Inventory Description The setting of this water color is located outside the lunch room exit of Immaculate Hear Academy. My goal for this painting was to capture the landscape as accurately as possible but still try and focus on important detail such as textures.
