 Schedules for students  Schedules for teacher  Schedules for para Figuring out where and when each child is working throughout the day can be tricky. Schedules are constantly changing.

Grade template How are you setting up your schedules?  Grade  Student Fill in 15 min or 30 min time frames for the entire day.

Read through IEPs!!!Specials Schedule  Get a master schedule for every grades specials list.  Have a copy of each student’s IEP and read through it.

Color Code lunch times- Yellow  Get the master lunch schedule for students.  Fill in each grade lunch.  Fill in breakfast

Color Code Specials -Blue  What is appropriate for each student? Determine how long they will participate in specials daily.  Add in Specials

Color code Recess - yellow  Get Master schedule for each grade recess time.  Fill in all recess blocks.

Inclusion times – Green Get a copy of each student’s gen. ed class schedule.  Determine from the iep how much time each child will spend in the gen. ed classroom.  Meet with each child’s gen. ed teacher. Together find times that are appropriate for student inclusion.  Some ideas are: ◦ Making Meaning ◦ Whole group activities ◦ Centers ◦ Intervention times

Add your lunch - yellow  Look at the schedule and determine the best time for you to take your lunch time.

Add teaching times  Determine whole group instruction times. ◦ Tip: look at when most students are present.  Recommendation is partnering students with similar goals/objectives for small group direct instruction.  If possible keep students on similar schedules.

Tip: Set a time to bathroom students. PM Teaching Times  Fill in curriculum time, math, reading, sensory breaks and bathroom breaks.

Non color coded copy  Print off MANY non- color copies of student schedules. Use pencil to add in changes.  Determine their lunch and break times.  Talk with paras about preferences or students they work well with.  Ask if they want to be with one student all day or want to rotate with many students.  Tip: These change daily! It can take a couple weeks for everything to start running smoothly.

Color code each para  Each para receives a copy of their schedule highlighted.  Determine what is working and what changes need to be made.  Meet at the end of the week to update schedules.
