Math, Science, and Social Studies Ms. Moss

This is my 16 th year in the classroom. I started teaching in a preschool classroom when I was 18. This is my 9 th year teaching at First Baptist. I have two dogs onenamed Boo Boo and the other is Gracie.. I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana.

When we go anywhere as a group you must get in a straight line. Unless, I tell you otherwise you must get in number order. You need to make sure that there is space in between you and the person in front of you. You may not put your hands on other students. Pushing and shoving is not allowed. The line should always be silent.

When you come in the class room you should quietly come in and sit at your desk. Never enter the classroom when the teacher is not present. Mornings- 1. When you come in unpack your back pack. On Monday’s you will need to unload your cubby into your desk. 2. Write in your agenda. 3. In the morning there will be a list of work for you to complete on the board. 4. When you finish you may work on something from the early finisher’s list on the board.

After Recess- 1. Come in the classroom quietly and get your lunch if you brought it. 2. Use hand sanitizer on your hands. 3. Line up in number order silently. After Lunch- 1. Enter the classroom quietly, get you book bag, and line up for Ms. Pinac’s class. After Specials/ Chapel/ Assembly- 1. Enter the classroom quietly. 2. Sit down and continue doing what we were doing before you left the class. If it is a new assignment, sit quietly and wait for your teacher.

For Lunch- 1. Wait until the teacher tells you to line up. 2. Push your chair in and clean up any mess on or around your desk. 3. Line up in number order silently. All other activities- 1. Wait until the teacher tells you to line up. 2. Push your chair in and clean up any mess on or around your desk. 3. Line up in boy/girl sequence.

Make sure that the area around your desk is clean and nothing is left on your desk. Take anything with any value with you. Line up quietly with your book bag. Wait until your teacher dismisses you and walk quietly in the hall and line up quietly across from Ms. Pinac’s class until she allows you to come in.

Each table will have a cup of sharpened pencils placed in the center of the group. If you need another pencil, place the unsharpened one in the cup and take a sharpened one out. If your group is out of sharpened pencils raise your hand and the teacher will replace them. No students are allowed to use the pencil sharpener at any time. If you are working with colored pencils and need to sharpen them you should use the pencil sharpener in your color box.

You will get a bathroom break in the morning and one in the afternoon. Unless there is an emergency, no one may leave the classroom otherwise. Bathroom Rules 1. Walk Quietly to the bathroom. 2. Remain quiet when you enter the bathroom. 3. Use the bathroom and flush the toilet. 4. Wash your hands and quietly return to class. 5. Enter the classroom and quietly return to work.

When announcements come on you are to stop what you are doing and listen. During the pledges, you should be standing with your hand over your heart and you must say the pledges. There is no talking or drawing during this time. Once pledges are finished remain standing and listen to announcements while I walk around and do uniform checks.

NameDate Assignment Number

Walk to the Sanctuary quietly. Enter the Sanctuary quietly and sit in our assigned section. While seated you must sit up in your chair. Your feet, and hands do not belong on the seats around you. During pledges and prayer. You must stand up straight with your hand over your heart and say the pledges. During worship you should stand up straight. No leaning on chairs. During the Chapel Service, you should be sitting up and listening to the speaker. Leaving Chapel- Follow your teacher back to the classroom quietly.

Rules Respect Others Do what you are told the first time you are told to do it. Respect School Property Act in a Christ-like manner. Keep your area neat and clean. Consequences 1. Warning (Minor Offenses) 2. Move Number- Lowers Your Conduct Grade for the Day 3. Move Number- Lowers Your Conduct Grade, Behavior Journal (signed by the parent), and Recess Detention 4. Move Number- Lowers Your Conduct Grade, Teacher Discipline Form, and either Community Service, Detention, or Punish Work. 5. Move Number- Lowers Your Conduct Grade, Write Up and/or Office Visit.

Rewards A Good Conduct Grade Chance for a popcorn and movie party at the end of the nine weeks. Random Prizes A classroom environment that is enjoyable to learn in.

If you have trash, throw it away in the trash can. At the end of the day, someone will be assigned the job of taking the trash out and placing it outside of the door. If there isn’t a bag in the can don’t put trash in it. If the can is full, let the teacher know and wait to put the trash in until there is a new bag. Don’t throw trash on the floor.

When the alarm goes off, get up quietly and get into a straight line. Follow your teacher out to our class’s spot. Face the field and stand in a quiet and strait line until told to return to class. When returning to class, remain in a straight line and walk quietly back to class. When entering the classroom, return to your desk quietly, sit and continue working on what you were working on before the drill.

When we go to lunch, if you are getting lunch line up quietly in a straight line and wait for Mrs. Judy to check your name. If you brought your lunch quietly walk to the table and have a seat. You may talk quietly in the lunch room. Once you are seated, you may not get up without permission. When lunch is over I will dismiss you to throw trash away one table at a time. Once the trash is thrown away and your table area is clean, stand behind your chair and wait to be dismissed to line up.

Recess is a privilege and not a right. You will have to work to earn it every day. Rules 1. Keep your hands to yourselves. 2. No tag or chase. 3. No fighting. 4. Play nice 5. You may not leave the playground without permission from a duty teacher. 6. You may only go to the library with the permission of a duty teacher.

During rainy day recess, the duty teacher will show a movie. Only two people at a time may go to the library with the permission of the duty teacher. You must have permission to go to the bathroom. You may move so that you can see the movie, but if you are not quiet you will receive punish work.

All make-up tests will be given on Monday afternoons. This is the only day that they will be given. You must make the tests up the Monday immediately following your absence. You will only receive full credit for the test if the absence was excused by the office. Otherwise the highest you can get is a 60F.

Every day your homework should be written into your agenda. All homework and tests are listed on the assignment board. All homework is due on Friday unless I tell you differently. All homework should be placed in your homework section when you receive it and when you finish it. Homework should be neat and written in cursive. If the work is done on loose-leaf you should use the proper heading and should not be torn out of a notebook. Crumpled and Sloppy homework will not be accepted. If you don’t do your work, you will have to fill out a pink slip form that will go into your file.

Every morning as soon as you enter the classroom and unpack, you will complete the morning work listed on the board. When you finish with one assignment move to the next one. Your math facts should be placed in the morning work section of your binder. No one should be up and walking around during this time.

There will be a list of assignments listed on the board that you should complete when you are finished with any class assignments. You should never draw or write notes when you are done with your work.

Classwork- when everyone is finished with classwork I will collect the papers in number order. You should not raise your hand and tell me you are finished. You should just move on to your finished work assignments. Homework- Unless the assignment is due before Friday, every Friday I will call for homework. It is your responsibility to put it in the correct tray and know where your work is.

Tardies- If you come in late, come in quietly, place your tardy slip on my desk, and sit down and get ready to work. If you get 3 unexcused tardies, you will be given an after school detention. 6 or more unexcused tardies result in a school write up. Absences- Within two days you must give me a note saying why you were absent. You have one day for everyday that you were absent in order to make up your work. If your absence was excused you will get full credit. If it was unexcused, the highest grade you can get is a 60F. All worksheet you missed will be placed with your name on them in the make up folder along with the assignments you missed. It is your responsibility to make these things up.

If anyone (your parents, another teacher, Mrs. Bonny, Ms. Nelson, Mrs. Illeane, Mrs. Vickie, or anyone else) comes to the classroom during class, you should remain seated and continue working. You may not talk to the person or get up. If the person needs to talk to the class or a specific person, your teacher will let you know. At that point only, is it okay for you to stop working. If you do not continue working, you will move your number.
