Presentation transcript:

Thursday 13 th November

 At home there are always distractions…a younger brother/sister….T.V. jobs to get done.  This session gives you the opportunity to have a 1-1 with your child to talk about important issues.  Safe use of medicines and safe storage of household products.

This morning there will be 3 activities to carry out. You can just talk to your child… Your child can record …. You can record for your child it is up to you!

 In their PHSE lessons in school each week, the children meet with Mrs Reeley and Kesby Bear in the Library.  They look at pictures of Kesby and talk about what Kesby is doing.  Last half term we looked at Kesby’s expressions to see how he was feeling, then talked about why he might be feeling like this….what makes us feel like this?  This half term it will be scenarios to act out … sharing, falling out, etc  They are in the process of making individual booklets, you are welcome to come and look at these later.

MEDICINES  Look at the boxes, packets.  Where do they come from?  Do you recognise any?  Have you taken any of these?  Why did you take them?  Where should they be kept?  Is it safe to take them without a grown up?  Can you take somebody else’s to make you feel better?

 Where do you think Kesby is?  What is he drinking?  What has happened to him?  What happens next?

 Your shopping bag.  Sort the shopping and talk about where the shopping needs to be stored.  Cupboard, high cupboard, fridge, bathroom.

Please stay for a coffee and fill in an evaluation slip to let us know how we can improve on the session for next time. Our School’s drugs policy is here for you to look at.
