Presentation transcript:

Directions: This activity is based on the idea that the students will use digital cameras to go around the campus and take digital pictures of Translucent, Transparent, and Opaque objects. 1.In small groups using digital cameras go around the campus and take photos of different examples of Translucent, Transparent, and Opaque, objects. 2.Save these photos on the network in the STUDENT WORK FOLDER located on the Student Shared network directory. I would create individual folders for each group to put their pictures in. Schedule a time with your ITS to help you with this project. 3.Save this PowerPoint to the Student Shared network directory in the Fifth Grade folder. 4.Delete the directions slide. 5.Working with a partner or on their own, students complete the PowerPoint. 6.The first slide will be their title slide. Students can feel free to change the title. 7.On the next 3 slides, students write a definition in their own words what Opaque, Translucent, and Transparent means. Then they insert and resize the images that they took and place them in the appropriate square. 8.On slide 5, students click on the different circles, drag them onto the picture and determine if they are Opaque, Transparent, or Translucent. (Orange=Translucent, Green=Transparent, Blue=Opaque) 9.Once the students have completed each of the slides they can then go back to their slides and add the cool stuff. (change font size, color, or style, add transitions and animations)
