What kinds of shadows were produced by the puppets in the video?

Blocking the Light

 Transparent – Allows light and an image to travel through. (Example: Glass)  Translucent – Allows light to travel through, but not an image. (Example: Tissue Paper)  Opaque – Does not allow light or an image to travel through. (Example: Wood)

Translucent makes a lighter shadow because...

Opaque makes a dark shadow because...

Transparent makes almost no shadow because...

Distance from Light and Shadow Size  As you get closer to the light source more light is blocked and the resulting shadow is larger.  As you get further from the light source less light is blocked and the resulting shadow is smaller.

Materials and Clean Up:  If you are able to use scrap materials to fit your need, please do.  If you need new materials, please ask and I will provide them for you.  When cleaning up materials consider this:  If someone else can get some use out of it place it on the table in back (paper in the bin, wax paper or transparency on the table).  If it is too small for someone else to use toss it in the correct place (paper in recycling, wax paper and transparency in the trash).  Please put other materials in the correct place as well. (Yesterday I found many things in the wrong spot including a pair of scissors in the paper scraps which can pose a safety hazard.)
