Deuteronomy Created and Presented by: Maggie, Aaron, Kelsey, Jarrett, and Maddie!!!!

Finding our Way The English name of the fifth book of the Pentateuch, Deuteronomy, is derived from the Greek translation of the Hebrew phrase, meaning "the second law." Maggie

Finding Our Way Why did Moses preach three long sermons to the people as they were preparing to enter the Promised Land. So that the people, their children and their grandchildren may fear the Lord as long as they live by keeping all His decrees and commands so they may enjoy a long life. Aaron

Finding Our Way What were some of the curses and blessings in Moses’ third sermon? Curses were given to those who: dishonors parents, carves images or casts idols, moves neighbor’s boundary stones, leads the blind astray. The blessing are: Defeated enemies, making you holy people, abundant prosperity, fruit of womb. Kelsey

Finding Our Way List some of the topics of Moses’ first sermon. God’s commands, God’s decrees, God’s laws, being careful to obey, fearing the Lord, increasing greatly in the land, enjoying a long life. Aaron

Finding Our Way Why was Moses not allowed to enter the Promised Land? Moses disobeyed God time and time again. Moses also suffered this punishment because of His people’s sin. Maggie

Finding Our Way How would you describe the theme of Moses song? The theme is that God provides and protects us even though we are sinners. We reject His love and turn away from Him even though He is good. We sin. Kelsey

Finding Our Way Why did Moses preach three long sermons as they were preparing to enter the Promised Land? This was so that the people, their children and their grandchildren may fear the Lord as long as they live by keeping all His decrees and commands so they could enjoy a long life. Maddie

Finding Our Way Compare God’s love for Israel with God’s Love for us. God loves everyone equally but we think His connection with the Israelites was very unique. Jarrett
