ROMANS 10:11-15(ESV) 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

ROMANS 10:11-15(ESV) 14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

Being Instruments of Blessings Colossians 4:2-3, 2 Corinthians 9:7-8, Romans 10:11-15

INTRODUCTION Mission: To Know Him and To Make Him Known

INTRODUCTION Mandate – To live under mandate is to be entrusted with a task of lasting significance. Mandates are not commands we assign small errands or daily chores. A mandate, on the other hand, releases authority and responsibility to pursue endeavors of historic importance. God has entrusted to Christ, and with Him to the Church, a mandate to fulfill His purpose for all of history.

MAIN IDEA God’s calling us to be instruments of blessings that would accomplish His work around the world by praying, giving and going.

OUTLINE I. Praying (Colossians 4:2-3) II. Giving (2 Cor 9:7-8) III. Going (Romans 10:11-15)

I. PRAYING “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains” (Colossians 4:2–3, NIV) “Dear brothers and sisters, I urge you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. Do this because of your love for me, given to you by the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:30, NLT).

I. PRAYING As we pray for those who are called to go, you too will have an impact that can reach around the world.

I. PRAYING Praying for Missionaries and Mission Work: Pray for Open Doors and Boldness in Witness Pray for Wisdom and Guidance in Ministry Pray for Protection and for Provision Pray for Refreshment and Encouragement

I. PRAYING Pray for Open Doors and Boldness in Witness “And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike." (Ephesians 6:19, ESV). “Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we ask you to pray for us. Pray that the Lord’s message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes….”(2 Thessalonians 3:1, ESV)

I. PRAYING Pray for Wisdom and Guidance in Ministry “And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding” (Colossians 1:9, ESV).

I. PRAYING Pray for Protection and Provision “Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you, and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men. For not all have faith.” (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2, ESV). “On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again. You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.” (2 Corinthians 1:10-11, ESV).

I. PRAYING Pray for Refreshment and Encouragement “that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.” (Acts 3:20-21, ESV)

II. GIVING 2 Corinthians 9:7-8(ESV) 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

II. GIVING Who gives two cents for missions? According to World Magazine, of every dollar given to a Protestant church, the average amount that goes to overseas missions is two cents.

II. GIVING An empty tomb, inc. report found that evangelicals give churches about 4 percent of their income (and all Christians only 2.43 percent), far less than the biblical 10 percent tithe.empty tomb, inc.

II. GIVING What is Faith Promise? It’s called Faith because you have faith that God will provide for all your needs so that you will be able to fulfill your promise to give this offering. It’s called Promise because you promise to give the offering. The Faith Promise is a financial commitment of giving to Missions of CGC that you believe God will enable you to fulfill.

II. GIVING Why make a Faith Promise? God continues to call people to share the Gospel message from university campuses here in St. Louis to all the way around the world. Missionaries are being called to reach out to the lost and hurting people who need the hope of Christ. Together, we are called to “preach good news to the poor... to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners” (Isaiah 61:1). Your Faith Promise commitment enables us to partner with mission work all around the world to deliver this hope.

II. GIVING More on the FPO: You give what you have. You do not give what you don’t have. You don’t borrow from your credit card to give. You don’t withhold your tuition payment or rent payment in order to give. You don’t withhold your regular offering and tithe to give to the FPO The emphasis of this is to really look to God and seek His guidance and leading with determining how you are going to give to missions. God continues to work on our hearts as mission committee and board of elders to work on our mission program which involves who and how to support our missionaries. If you have thoughts, ideas, or questions, please come dialogue with any of us.

III. GOING Romans 10:14-15 (ESV) 14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

III. GOING What are things I should do before “going” on missions? Pray Find discipleship and support from your church “Go” here before you go there Your spiritual/emotional/mental readiness Your financial readiness
