Dividing Decimals

 Move the decimal in the divisor to the left to make the divisor a whole number.  Move the decimal in the dividend the same number of places you moved the decimal in the divisor.  Move the decimal straight up in the quotient.  Divide as you would with whole numbers.

12.95 ÷ ÷ 4.2

 Add a decimal and a zero to your dividend  Move the decimal in the divisor to the left to make the divisor a whole number.  Move the decimal up in the quotient.  Divide as you would with whole numbers. In this problem we had to move the decimal two places in the divisor so we added another zero to move the decimal two places in the dividend.
