APPS LAB SPARK
Spark: Apps Lab and Ignition Corner The Apps Lab is designed to showcase products, technologies, business models, and solutions that are relevant to telecentres and the ICT4D field in general. Attendees will move through the Apps Lab area, interacting with individuals and technologies presented in booth spaces. The booths will offer wall and counter space for display of materials as well as a large monitor for images and presentations. A table and chairs will allow for conversations. The Apps Lab will also contain the “Ignition Corner”, where speakers will have the technical facilities and scheduled time to present their project or idea to an audience in an interactive format intended to promote an open discussion. The standard amount of time allocated for sessions in the Ignition Corner is 15 minutes, although some sessions may extend to 30 minutes. This ensures a range of focused and informative sessions are available to Spark attendees. Speakers will be discouraged from excessive use of slides, relying more on technical demonstrations and images. Questions will be divided into two parts: strengths and weaknesses of the technology, initiative, or proposal. A moderator will manage the schedule and ensure time for questions.
Apps Lab Location The Apps Lab area will be located in the main hall of the conference venue. It will contain a number of booths for exhibitors as well as the Ignition Corner where demos and briefings will take place Ignition Corner stage and seating Apps Lab booth spaces Note this conceptural design scheme may change slightly
