Regional Water Conservation Program Update EAHCP Implementing Committee October 17, 2013
Section of the EAHCP Requires the EAA to: − −Conserve 20,000 ac-ft/yr of Edwards Aquifer withdrawals − −One-half of the conserved water (10,000 ac-ft) will be committed to remain in the Aquifer unpumped Establishes “Initial Commitments” − −Allows for the understanding that it will take time to achieve 20,000 ac-ft of conservation and initially water in the program will be loaned from participating entities to realize an immediate benefit
