CRITICAL REPAIR OF KALAUPAPA DOCK STRUCTURES: HONORING THE PAST, PROTECTING THE FUTURE

Turbidity curtain installed to isolate low dock and bulkhead wall work areas, protecting the harbor and nearby waters from effects of construction.

Repairing extensive concrete damage on dock structural components.

Grouting voids in the bulkhead wall.

View of the completed project, with the construction barges still in the harbor. New armor stones can be seen protecting the breakwater, dock, and bulkhead wall.

Repaired breakwater: large voids in the concrete and rock masonry structure were grouted, and larger armor stones were placed to protect the wall from high seas.

Repaired concrete breakwater cap, and newly placed larger armor stones to protect dock and breakwater.
