Module 3 Troubleshooting and Security in Speednet 3.1.1

Module objective At the end of the module, the trainees must be able to – Troubleshoot problems faced to correct erroneous operations in Speednet – Secure the Communication system to ensure smooth and continuous data exchange 3.1.2

Troubleshooting- Overview Users should perform routine operations correctly Std. troubleshooting methods should be used. Never attempt to make modification of data in database directly. To troubleshoot a problem you must be able to apply more than one tool as same error may occur due to different reasons. Take back up of existing environment before attempting any major corrections. PTC, Mysore periodically releases FAQ’s which may be consulted for standard troubleshooting operations 3

Routine issues Include an article in a bag already closed but not despatched or removing an article wrongly entered The routine problems can be corrected by supervisor Wrong data entry of article except BNPL Add/delete an article in a bag already opened Watch demo of solutions and attempt exercise Cancel an entire bag prepared but not despatched and restore articles for disposal otherwise Modify status of an article already scanned as recieved Cancelling a bag despatched after the despatch list is generated 4

General issues Installation issues(discussion with reference to troubleshooting issues listed in user guide) – Client installation – Db creation and permission issues – Bag configuration issues Trainees to discuss any other known issues for solution 3.1.5
