The Association of Municipalities, Polish Network “Energie Cités” (PNEC) is a non governmental, non profit organisation with its office located in Kraków. The organisation was registered in The statutory goal of the Association is promotion of energy efficiency and creation of municipal development strategy, including renewable energy. 11 years of Polish Network “Energie Cites” Participation in over 30 projects, organising over 40 seminars, training's, study tours and conferences in the framework of the project financed by: EU programmes (TEMPUS, SAVE, ALTENER) and USAID (World, Learning, ASE, AED, PAUCI, MUNEE) In over 2100 representatives from local authorities were trained: from Poland – about 2000 people from Ukraina – 84 people from Croatia – 22 people from Armenia – 12 people from Moldova – 12 people Kaunas, 8 June 2005

Polish Network „Energie Cités” received from the European network Energie-Cités CD-ROM presenting 105 best practices of use of renewable energy in cities and communities in 19 European countries. CD-ROM prepared in English and French by Energie-Cités with the financial support of European Commission within the scope of the ALTENER Programme was translated into Polish. IDEA 1.Follow up of European project: TEMPUS JOINT EUROPEAN PROJECT IB_ JEP „Course on Sustainable Energy for Local Administrators”, AGH students visited PNEC and asked about possibilities to participate in sudy tours to learn about RE investments 2.Information from Marshal office that in preliminary call for proposals – January-February 2004: 260 applications were sent, only 1 application referred to renewable energy, but did not meet formal requirements.
