The 101 Ranch The 101 was located south of present day Ponca City. The 22 room family home was known as the “White House”.

101 and Braum’s The 101 Ranch eliminated the “middleman” by selling all of their own products at their own stores, shipped by their own trucks. What Oklahoma company is closest to operating that way today?

The Osage Hills The Osage tribe became some of the wealthiest people in the world in the early 1900’s because of oil discovered in the old Osage Nation (now Osage County) The average income for an Osage family in 1925 was $60,000. Oil $ lead to the worst form of grafting… murder.

Oil Boom and Bust Oil and natural gas has always been part of Oklahoma’s economy. It has gone through boom times (good prices, good demand, lots of jobs) and always followed with busts (low prices, low demand, high unemployment). This has cause our state economy to go through the same cycles many times. It has hurt many “boom” towns because many people left. Today, Oklahoma is much more diversified.

Dust Bowl: The Dirty 30’s State affected by the Dust Bowl were, Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico, Colorado Only NW Oklahoma was in the worst of the DB Severe Drought: 1936 and 1937 parts of PH receieved NO rainfall.
