Jonesboro, Arkansas Date: March 24, 1998 Weapons: Remington rifle,.44- caliber Ruger, Smith & Wesson.38 revolver, Remington 742, Universal.30- caliber rifle. Description: Mitchell Johnson age 13 and Andrew Golden age 11, pulled a fire alarm that forced students and staff to exit the rear of the school onto a large playground. Johnson and Golden dressed in military type fatigues hide in a wooded area and fired at the students and staff as they were locked out of the building. Springfield, Oregon Date: May 21, 1998 Weapons:.22-caliber Ruger semi- automatic rifle, Glock 9mm pistol Description: Using the semiautomatic rifle and a Glock 9mm pistol that his father bought him, Fifteen year old Kipland Kinkel, a day after he had been suspended from school for bring a pistol to school, returned the following day and killed two Thurston High School students and wounded 22 others. He also killed both of his parents the night before. In an Internet profile that he wrote about himself he stated that he liked "role-playing games, heavy-metal music, violent cartoons/TV and sugared cereal." HOME
