Injuries from Weapons There not much medicine in the Civil War –If you were hit in the chest or head with one of these weapons, you were most likely left to die. –If you were hit in the leg or arm with one of these weapons, your leg or arm would most likely be amputated. Also there was no anesthesia or pain medicine.
