USING TECHNOLOGY TO SAVE FUEL Alternative Power Unit Installations - APU Trucks spec’d for aero profile, reduced wind resistance, and weight reduction strategies such as aluminum wheels. Truck’s Electronic Control Module has custom parameters… Truck’s Electronic Control Module has custom parameters… O & S’s Driver Fuel Economy Incentive and Speed reduction technology. Engine shutdown with no override allowed.

Tri Pack APU’s 194 units installed since more scheduled before 12/31/06. Goal is to reduce idle percentage to 5%.

TRAILER TECHNOLOGIES O & S trailers are 53’ Equipped with P.S.I. tire inflation systems Low rolling resistant trailer tires XT-1 MRT O & S recommends to all of our drivers to reduce the distance between cab and trailer to 35” or less.

SPEED REDUCTION TECHNOLOGY: Driver Rewards Program since 6/05 ECM settings changed to require truck to achieve 6.5 mpg Decreasing speed from 70 mph to 65 mph could save $1,500 per year per truck. Drivers were given a t-shirt to promote what we were doing
