Population In Need 750,000 Kentuckians were without health insurance in Million Americans were without health insurance in More than 50% of these uninsured individuals reported not seeking care due to the costs. 47% postponed treatment due to costs. 79% of all bankruptcies were due to medical bills!

Surgery on Sunday, Inc. is 501 c 3 non-profit organization that provides free outpatient surgical services to uninsured individuals who cannot afford health insurance and who are not eligible for federal or state programs.

How did this happen? Dr. Andrew Moore, Founder of SOS had thought of this concept in the early 1990’s. It was becoming harder for him to get patients done for free at the hospitals due to the incorporation of computers tracking data and the strict codes and policies that went along with billing and insurance regulations.

How Did He Do It? By surrounding himself with people who contributed their own expertise from all areas of life to combine with his medical and surgical expertise to get SOS started successfully.
