Mahadev Fly Ash Bricks Mobile :

(M)  Environment friendly  High Strength  Cost saving The Fly Ash Bricks are promoted as an alternative to burnt clay bricks with in the construction sector in India. Why….. Fly Ash Bricks Fly-Ash Bricks are an environment friendly cost saving building product. These bricks are three times stronger than conventional bricks with consistent strength. These bricks are ideally suited for internal, external, load bearing and non-load bearing walls. These Bricks with higher strength/weight ratio (about 3 to 4 times that of burnt red bricks) aid in designing stronger, yet more economic structures. The demand for bricks is expected to be about 100 billion per year by the turn of the century. Even if only 50% of the estimated demand of 100 billion bricks per year, is met from fly ash for productive use saving alternate resources, and reducing environmental hazard to that extent. Disposal of 51 million tonne of fly ash per year today is a major problem. The country is productively using only about 3% or 1.5 million tonne of fly ash. Thus, million tonne of fly ash per year at present poses environmental threat. This figure will grow to over 87 million tonne per year by the turn of the century, if present dismal level of utilization only ash is maintained.

(M) Advantages Fly Ash Bricks vs Traditional Red Bricks They have dense composition and high compressive strength which gives them higher load bearing capacity. They are uniform in shape and size and have a smooth finish. They help saving in mortar up to 25% mortar and saving in plaster up to 15%, because of even shape and size. They have higher moisture resistance, as their water absorption ability is much lower than traditional red bricks. This reduces chances of dampness on walls. They are less porous and have a thermal conductivity of W/m2°C as opposed to the thermal conductivity of traditional red bricks which is 1.25 – 1.35 W/m2 ºC. Thus, they have better thermal insulation than traditional red bricks. They help people save 20-30% on electricity bill, as they have better thermal insulation. This keeps the interiors of a fly-ash structure 4-5 degrees cooler than a traditional red brick made structure. They are more durable and being made of concrete, their strength increases with the passage of time. They don't absorb heat; rather, they reflect heat. So, good for homes in countries like India. They are lighter in weight than ordinary traditional red bricks Brick size is bigger but lighter than conventional bricks The cost of plastering is curtailed. This brings down the overall building cost. They are more resistant to salinity and water than traditional red bricks. They are twice better in noise insulation than traditional red-bricks. Save top agricultural soil
