Presentation transcript:

 The schools in the Mountains Network currently engage in regular dialogue, shared professional development and combined student activities. This initiative will allow the schools to share KLA scope and sequence allowing the schools to use technology across the schools to further enhance learning opportunities

 Basically the schools will be undertaking the same unit at the same time using technology to link the schools and reducing the work load of the schools in that units will be shared.  One school prepares one unit over 4 years- think smarter not harder.

 Schools will ensure continuity of the technology skills base within their schools by undertaking the same units at the same times basically increasing numbers of students in each stage.  Schools will strengthen the existing Mountains Network through professional learning partnerships in teaching the same units at the same time

 Mountain Magic Planning Day- Information  This is a follow up of yesterday’s meeting held at Brungle School.  It is a draft and I may have missed some items. Please addend and send back.  We will trial the “Explorer’s” unit in Term  Jugiong and Cabramurra will write up the first unit for everyone.  Every school will have to write up one unit for everyone else at some stage over the next few years.  Brungle will write up the next unit for term 2 which is “Minibeasts”.  We will use the development day of term 2 to evaluate and prepare for the following year.  We will have the first Videoconference in week 3 and we will be using “Stu’s quiz boxes for this.  The first three of these are attached with questions but will only open up if you have downloaded the program. These will be used for immersion and tuning in and finding out what the students already know.  All students will learn about all explorers from the other schools.  We will be having videoconferencing every Tuesday between 2 pm and 2.45pm  Each school will have to chose an explorer to work on in detail and do a presentation for the rest of the schools during weeks 9 & 10 on the Tuesday. This presentation will need to be in electronic form as in a movie, powerpoint etc.  Each school will have to research and prepare a “stu’s Quiz Box.”on their chosen Explorer.  Schools can/will combine to undertake the research on one main explorer and become the expert on this explorer. They will also use Video conferencing to work on their explorer.

 Term Plan (draft)  Week  –  2 Schools undertake Stu’s Quiz Box one  3 Video Conference for all schools.- Outcomes and expectations given to students.  4 Schools undertake Stu’s Quiz Box 2.
