New York State Report Cards Program Report Cards Fiscal Year 12/13 Presented by: Rosemary Matt

Evaluated in TWO Methods NYS BenchmarksQuartile Ranked Educational Gain = 51% Post Test Rate = 70% Follow Up Outcomes = 69% Educational Gain (Weighted) Post Test Rate Follow Up Outcomes Individually! FY

NYS Benchmarks FY13/14 Educational Gain = 51% Post Test Rate = 70% Follow Up Outcomes = 69%

Quartile Ranks Unacceptable – Missed one or more benchmark & in the 1 st quartile Needs Improvement – Missed one or more benchmark & in the 2 nd, 3 rd, or 4 th quartile Proficient – Has met all the benchmarks (any quartile) Highly Proficient – Has met all the benchmarks & in quartile 4

NYS Benchmark Summary:

Weighted Academic Gain:

Educational Gain remains 51% in FY14 NYS average was 56%

Post Test Rate remains 70% in FY14 Remember, NYS average was 78%

Follow Up Outcomes: Raw numbers used to calculate Program Performance in Percent # students achieving goal # students exiting with goal = 91.9%

Follow Up Outcomes: MAJOR Change from past years

Survey Response Rate:

Quartile Rank Summary:

Overall Performance: Quartiles Quartile Quartile 2 1 – 1.99 Quartile 3 2 – 2.99 Quartile 4 3 – 4.00

Overall Performance: Quartile 1Quartile 2Quartile 3Quartile

Total Score – Calculations for FY13/14 Maximum rating points to be earned: – Weighted Academic Gain 50 – Follow-up Measures 20 – Post Test Rate 20 – Response Rate 10 – Maximum Total100

Recent Developments NYSED ACCES will not set a New York specific minimum pass score on the TASC readiness assessment until New York specific data has been reviewed Minimum passing rates for students officially referred to the TASC test will not be set, nor will program specific passing rates trigger corrective action Program passing rates will not be reported on the annual NYSED report card, but will be informally shared with programs

So….. Follow Up Outcomes is still included in the scoring rubric…

However: GED /Secondary Credential will not be included in the Rubric for FY14 and FY15 as the state adjusts to the new HSE test

However: Therefore, the remaining 3 outcomes will weigh heavier into the 69% benchmark

So if we go back to the Summary Page, in FY14 & FY15: Follow Up Outcomes will include: Employment Retain Employment Enter Postsecondary Education or Training
