Is the scaffolding question answered clearly?

Complete an organizer – no rough draft.

Did they use correct essay format?

Did they have a strong introduction with a clear thesis?

Is the essay well organized?

Did they use (half + 1) documents? More than that is better.

Did they use information other than that which was found in the documents? Outside or background information.

Another struggle woman had to go through was to get the right to vote. The right to vote had been denied to women since the start of this country. Susan B. Anthony from Rochester N.Y was a leading women rights activist and helped get the Federal amendment granting national womens suffrage first introduced in congress in 1878 which finally be came the 19 th Amendment in 1920 as shown on the time line (doc #3). With the right to vote women could vote for Presidents, Governors, and Senators that supported their view. Even though the 19 th amendment took so long from being introduced to become ratified it was a big improvement considering before 1919 only 15 out of forty eight states allowed women to vote as shone on the map titled Women’s Suffrage Before Ratification of the 19 th amendment (doc#2).

Did they have a lot of background information?

Did they use specific examples, numbers, quotes, etc.?

Did they have a good conclusion? Did they just write something down to finish the essay?

Women’s rights have been denied through out history such as their right to equal employment and the right to vote. Some of these rights that were denied women have become rights with the 19 th Amendment, and the Civil Rights Act of Women’ struggle for those rights are a key part of this country’s history. They have been helped in there struggle for these rights by groups, individuals and historical events.
