Overview of Classified Evaluation Classified Performance Standards Rubric Format Self-Evaluation Goal-Setting Conference Mid-Year Conference End-of-Year Conference & Evaluation

Rubric Format Four levels of performance Exemplary Proficient Essential Unacceptable Guidance for professional conversation Road map for classified staff: “Tell me what a good job looks like.”

Classified Performance Standard 1 Relationships Communication Teamwork and Conflict Management

Classified Performance Standard 2 Job Management Time Management/Flexibility Problem Solving and Decision Making Self-Direction/Initiative

Classified Performance Standard 3 Quality of Work Occupational Knowledge Safety

Classified Performance Standard 4 Professionalism Professional Conduct and Character Growth Punctuality and Attendance

Encouraging Self-Evaluation Promoting reflection and self-evaluation Improving work performance Setting meaningful goals Affirming positive behaviors which are already being demonstrated and identifying behaviors that can increase employee and departmental effectiveness.

Mid-Year Conference (by January 25, 2013) Classified staff member brings highlighted copy of rubric reflecting his/her self-assessment of work performance Supervisor brings highlighted copy of rubric reflecting his/her assessment of classified staff member’s work performance Classified staff member and supervisor review completed goals set at the beginning of the academic year AND make adjustments, if necessary

End-of-Year Conference (by May 15, 2013) Classified staff member brings highlighted copy of rubric reflecting his/her self-assessment of work performance Supervisor brings highlighted copy of rubric reflecting his/her assessment of classified staff member’s work performance Classified staff member and supervisor review completed goals set at the beginning of the academic year (including any mid-year adjustments) Supervisor reviews the evaluation summary with classified staff member Supervisor informs classified staff member that all parts of evaluation will be finalized and provided to him/her for comments and signature
