What is PAMS? PAMS is a multinational defense forum for senior- level officers from regional ground forces and security services to exchange views. Opportunity to build strong interpersonal relationships between leaders of regional land forces.

Bringing Spouses * A key component of PAMS is relationships formed between the delegates. Spouses can serve to catalyze those relationships. * The presence of delegate spouses also permits other discussions to occur that can build regional understanding and cooperation. * The Bangladesh Army will conduct a valuable and enjoyable spouse program for all attending spouses. * Any delegate, support staff, or secretariat member is welcome to bring their spouse on a self-funded basis Spouses of Delegates from PAMS XXXVII in Auckland, NZ, in 2013
2014 THEME A new focus on the Asia- Pacific region: Opportunities and Challenges for Land Forces 5 TOPICS 1.Practicing cooperation, developing interoperability of concepts for non-traditional security 2.Building response capacity of land forces for issues of environmental security 3.Balancing requirement for meeting traditional and non-traditional threats 4.Civil-military and multinational cooperation, the essential elements for future stability
Conduct of PAMS Plenary Sessions – One each for topics 1-3 – Delegate speakers from designated countries – Open question and answer following speech Syndicate Groups – Five syndicates for small group discussions on topics 1-3 – Presentation on lessons learned at the end of the seminar – Mixed group of delegates from different sub-regions of the Asia-Pacific Panel Discussion – For topic 4 – Panelists from multiple countries – Open question and answer and discussion on topic Cultural and Social Events – Dinners and demonstrations throughout the seminar – Seminar lunches each day – Significant opportunities to build networks with other delegates

Administrative Instructions Registration or directly at – Delegates, spouses, support staff, and secretariat must register Arrival & Local Transportation – Registered travelers will be met at the Dhaka International Airport by the Bangladesh Army and transported to the Radisson Hotel – It is the responsibility of each delegation to ensure that they have proper documentation to enter Bangladesh – The Bangladesh Army will furnish all local seminar transportation Translator Support – Seminar will be conducted in English – Delegates requiring translation must contact the PAMS organizers as soon as possible Lodging – Following registration, travelers must contact the Radisson Blu hotel directly and reserve a room that is already blocked for PAMS: Muhammad Fawaad Manager Sales Hotel Radisson Blu Dhaka, Bangladesh (cell) (office) (Fax) Meals – Breakfast is included in the hotel reservation – Many, but not all, meals will be provided by the Bangladesh and/or US Armies
