“Education is the most priceless inheritance we can give our children What is the greatest treasure that can never be stolen and that is also a priceless inheritance that parents can give to their children? Ans. ________________ a.Wealth b.Education “The world’s greatest achievers have been those who have always stayed focused on their goals and have been consistent in their efforts.” ― Roopleen, Words to inspire the winner in YOURoopleenWords to inspire the winner in YOU “Count Your Blessings this Thanksgiving!” Yes, count your blessings is the key to contentment and happiness especially this thanksgiving season. We always have something, someone and some thing else to be thankful for from our day to day life’s experience. We have to acknowledge and recognize many things such as food, shelter, clothing particularly free elementary and secondary education. Think about those who have to risk their lives to go to school and get education. Please refer to video clip. The Students Achievement Committee has embarked a new way of distributing awards to the students. It was during PTA meeting that students were recognized for their achievement in the 1 st six weeks of school. Kudos and thank you for those who came to PTA meeting. Library of Congress Surplus Books Program grant for Pittman! Pittman Elementary has been approved for a grant to participate in the Library of Congress Surplus Books Program for 2 years. It was a learning and worthwhile experience to come to Washington, DC to select books for students and teachers. Moby Max is on the Max – Maximum Access Exploration for Math and Language Arts in the Eagle Country. Thanks to the team: coaches, teachers and staff for promoting success to all students. Grandparents were on the move during grandparents day in the Eagle Country.

Thoughts From Student of the Month and Teacher of the Year!!! Na’Quavious Boone – Student of the Month “I like being a student of the month because it is fun that you will be recognized and it is also hard work to be a student of the month. You got to be good and listen to the teacher and you get awards for all the hard work.” Mrs. Tonya Hedgepeth – Teacher of the Year 2014 – 2015 “Thank you for the nomination for Teacher of the Year. It means so much to have the educational respect of your colleagues. It takes hard work and dedication to do what we do and to do it well. I accredit my successes to the foundations that Pittman Elementary staff has given me. We truly are family here. I have loved teaching since I was a little girl playing with my siblings and friends. Now that I am no longer playing, I love teaching because it gives me the opportunity to make a difference in so many children’s lives. I am happy when a student says “ You are a great teacher or you inspired me to go to college. That’s more gratifying than anything!.” Congratulations and Thank You For Coming to Receive Your Awards During PTA meeting.
