What do you know about Tongue Twisters? The words starts with the same letter or beginning sound. Lets read some examples: She sells seashells down by the seashore Rubber baby buggy bumpers They are created to get our tongues all twisted up. They are written for the fun they bring when they are read.

Here’s an example “Night, night, Knight”, said one Knight to the other knight the other night. “Night, night, Knight.”

Here’s another example Down the slippery slide they slid Sitting slightly sideways; Slipping swiftly see them skid On holidays and Fridays.

What about ALLITERATION? Is a tongue twister an ALLITERATION?

YES!

Alliteration = Tongue Twister A poem with alliteration repeats the initial consonant sounds closely together. Alliteration poems tend to be tongue twisters

How can we remember what an alliteration is? Always remember that an alliteration is just a tongue twister. Also, Tongue Twister is an alliteration itself because both words start with the sound, “t”.

Can you think of your own Alliteration? Get out a piece of paper. Start with the first letter of your first name. Think of one noun that starts with that letter. Think on one verb that starts with that letter. Now, think of adjective that starts with that letter. Finally, put them all together in that order. Congrats!!! You’ve just created an alliteration.
