zParts of Speech Review Nouns: A noun is a person, place, thing, or idea. There are two types of nouns: Common Nouns which tell us the name of a person, place, or thing in general like cat, dog, or house. Proper Nouns tell us a specific person place or thing, Mr. Trapp, the White House, Stout Middle School.

zParts of Speech Review Nouns: A noun is a person, place, thing, or idea. Nouns can also be CONCRETE or ABSTRACT If you can touch it or see it, it is CONCRETE. Examples: book, pencil, table, door, etc. If it is a thing or idea, but you can not touch it or physically see it, it is considered ABSTRACT. Examples: coldness, the heat, love, sadness, etc.

zParts of Speech Review Pronouns : A pronoun is a word that can take the place of a noun. Instead of Mr. Trapp, we can say he. Instead of the government, we can say they. Instead of the dog we can say it. Subject PRONOUNS : I, you, he, she, it, we, they Object PRONOUNS: me, him her, them, us

zParts of Speech Review Adjectives : Adjectives are words that are used to modify or describe nouns. Instead of just saying, the book, we can say the amazing, outstanding, interesting, popular book. We use adjectives to make our sentences more interesting and specific.

zParts of Speech Review Verbs:Verbs are used to show an action or a state of being. Verbs can be telling about something that happened in the past, is happening in the present, or will happen in the future. They can even be used to explain that one thing happened before another in the past (Past Perfect Tense) Yesterday I ran. Today I’m running. Tomorrow I will run. First, I had run to the store before coming home. Past Perfect Tense
