 The renaissance is a famous period in history and of coarse something as terrific as that had to start off in ITALY!  It started during the 14th and 15th centuries. The literary, such as the poetry of Petrarch, Tasso, and Ariosto and the prose and poetry of Dante, Boccaccio, Machiavelli, and Castiglione, had a lasting influence on the subsequent development of Western civilization, together with the painting, sculpture, and architecture contributed by people such as da Vinci, Raphael, Botticelli, Fra Angelico and Michelangelo.

Pizza. Spaghetti! That’s what people usually associate (the food) Italy with. Pizza and spaghetti are not originally from Italy though they were perfected in it though. They were originally made in France, but Italy in totally cool *STYLE* added the terrific parts of these foods! They basically just added seasoning and toppings! And so now we give a Yay for Italy, without it we would have NITCH!

Just like in America music is a big part in ITALY! Their anthem is Inno di Mameli. In olden times there was a big advance in music. They got some lol. They started off with a lot of classical because of the renaissance. Now they have many types of music. But just like the rest of the world we share it. What’s big over here or heard of over here is probably big over there or is known over their. Just like us they are obsessed with music! They feel it is the beat of life just like their art!

They discovered a lot to do with science! Just like -eye glasses -wireless telegraphy -barometer - electric battery -nitroglycerin *AND ON A FUN NOTE THEY INVENTED THE ICE CREAM CONE!!!!*

Ruins from the ancient roman empire bring many tourists to Rome and other parts of Italy each year Most people live in northern Italy, particularly on the west coast around Rome and Naples, and in the Po Valley. Southern Italy is more rural, even thought the hot, dry climate is not very productive for farming.

Italy has played an important part in Europe since the early Roman empire. Population: 58 million Geographic size: 116,000 square miles Capital: Rome Major cities and population: Rome, Milan, Naples, Genoa, Venice Much of Italy is covered in mountains.

Italy has many internationally known tourist areas. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is easily identified. The marble tower was built over 800 years ago, but on soft ground. Shortly after it was built, it began to tilt. It now leans by over 16 feet. Located in Italy Vince. Venice is also a very popular tourist area. It is best known as the city built on water. It is famous for its canals and gondolas used as transportation around the city.

In northern Italy, temperatures can reach below the freezing during the winters, with snow in the northern most areas. Southern Italy has a warmer, more moderate climate.

The famous children's story, Pinocchio, was written by an Italian. Italy's contributions to science include the barometer, electric battery, nitroglycerin, and wireless telegraphy. The ice cream cone is an Italian invention. Eyeglasses are an Italian invention. The average Italian consumes 25 kilograms of pasta a year Italians refer to their country as Italia
