SOVEREIGN HILL BY OLIVIA JAMES

ARRIVING IT IS A 2 HOUR DRIVE TO SOVEREIGN HILL BUT LOTS OF FUN YOU GET TO SEE THE BEAUTIFUL COUNTRYSIDE AND LOTS OF ANIMALS. SOMETIMES YOUR TEACHERS MAY HAVE SOME LOLLIES OR PUT ON A MOVIE. YOU WILL TRAVEL BY BUS.

CABINS AND FRIENDS WHEN YOU ARRIVE YOU PUT ALL YOUR LUGGAGE IN YOUR ROOM. IN YOUR ROOM YOU COULD HAVE 5 PEOPLE 6 PEOPLE OR 10 PEOPLE. IN MY CABIN THERE WERE 10 PEOPLE. WE ALL GOT ALONG WELL. THERE ARE BUNK BEDS.

ACTIVITIES THE FIRST THING WE DID WAS GO GOLD PANNING. IN THAT HALF AN HOUR I DIDN’T FIND ANY GOLD. THIS IS A PICTURE OF ME.

ACTIVITIES AFTER GOLD PANNING WE WENT TO AN EDUCATION CENTRE, WERE SHE TOLD US ABOUT HOW THEY WASHED CLOTHES IN THE 1850’S AND MADE BUTTER IN THE 1850’S. YOU MADE BUTTER BY GETTING TWO BOTTLES OF CREAM AND TURNING THE HANDLE FOR HALF AN HOUR.

FREE TIME IN OUR FREE TIME WE WENT TO SEE THE GOATS AND PIGLETS. THEY WERE SO CUTE. I SAW SOME CHICKS AS WELL. THEN WE WENT TO AN OLD THEATRE. WE WENT TO THE TOP PART.

ACTIVITIES AFTER OUR FREE TIME WE WENT TO THE GOLD POUR. THE MAN SHOWED US HOW TO MELT THEN MAKE THE GOLD GO HARD AGAIN. WHEN THE GOLD WAS COOLED DOWN THE MAN ASKED ME TO HOLD IT. THE GOLD WAS WORTH $140,000.

FREE TIME IN OUR FREE TIME WE WENT TO THE LOLLY SHOP I GOT RASPBERRY DROPS AND A RASPBERRY CHOCOLATE FROG. WE SAW THE COACHES HORSES. WE GOT TO PAT THEM.

DINNER AFTER ALL OF OUR ACTIVITIES WE WENT TO DINNER FOR DINNER WE HAD DISGUSTING PASTA AND A DRINK OF LEMONADE. FOR DESSERT WE HAD CHOCOLATE MOUSE BUT THE PROBLEM WAS IT WASN’T COLD.

BLOOD ON THE SOUTHERN CROSS BLOOD ON THE SOUTHERN CROSS IS A LIGHT SHOW ABOUT THE EUREKA STOCKADE. MY FAVOURITE PART WAS WHEN THE MEN WERE SHOOTING AND THE CART CAUGHT ON FIRE AND IT ROLLED DOWN AND MADE A BIG BANG IT WAS FREAKY.

BEDTIME AFTER BLOOD ON THE SOUTHERN CROSS AT 11:30 PM WE PUT OUR PJ’S ON AND WENT TO BED. THE TEACHERS WERE PATROLLING THE HALLWAYS.

BREAKFAST IN THE MORNING WE WALKED DOWN FOR BREAKFAST, FOR BREAKFAST WE HAD CEREAL I HAD NUTRI-GRAIN THEN TOAST THEN SOME HOT CHOCOLATE. THEN WE WALKED BACK TO THE CABINS.

FREE TIME THE FIRST THING WE DID THAT MORNING WAS GO PANNING FOR GOLD. I HELPED MY FRIEND TRY AND FIND SOME GOLD, BUT WE DIDN’T FIND ANYTHING.

ACTIVITIES AFTER GOLD PANNING WE WENT TO THE CANDLE DIPPING WE WATCHED HOW THEY USED TO MAKE CANDLES. AFTER I PAYED TO DIP A BUMPY CANDLE IN COLOURS. I WAS A LITTLE BIT WORRIED TO DIP BECAUSE THE WAX WAS SO HOT THAT I'D BURN MYSELF BUT IT DOES LOOK FANTASTIC.

ACTIVITIES AFTER CANDLE DIPPING WE WENT TO THE RED HILL MINE TOUR. WHEN WE WENT IN IT WAS A REAL MINE FROM THE 1850’S. WE GOT TO SEE THE WELCOME NUGGET THEY TALKED ABOUT PEOPLE DROWNING IN THE MINES TO.

THE END IT WAS SO MUCH FUN I’D LIKE TO SAY THANKYOU TO ALL THE TEACHERS THAT WENT WITH US A BIG THANKYOU.
