Workshop Negative brainstorming

Time schedule workshop round – 9.40:Introduction 9.40 – 9.45:Group division 9.45 – 9.50:Problem introduction 9.50 – 10.10:Discussions in groups – 10.30:Collective evaluation

Time schedule workshop round – 10.40: Introduction – 10.45: Group division – 10.50: Problem introduction – 11.10: Discussions in groups – 11.30: Collective evaluation

Time schedule workshop round – 11.40: Introduction – 11.45: Group division – 11.50: Problem introduction – 12.10: Discussions in groups – 12.30: Collective evaluation

Introduction round 1: 9.30 – 9.40 round 2: – round 3: – The changes in today’s society demand creative and ‘out of the box’ thinking One way of creative thinking is brainstorming

Brainstorming Brainstorming can be done in many different ways, such as: Purging Imitating Morfological analysis Mind mapping Negative brainstorming

This technique reverses the problem. In case of negative brainstorming the objective is not to brainstorm for solutions to the problem, but to brainstorm for ways to increase the problem as much as possible. The solutions for the initial problem can be found by reversing the ideas that have initially been generated to increase the problem as much as possible. Ethical limitations should be thrown overboard temporarily!!!

Group division round 1: 9.40 – 9.45 round 2: – round 3: – The group is divided into 6 groups of 5 to 6 students Every group receives a sheet of paper and a marker

Problem introduction round 1: 9.45 – 9.50 round 2: – round 3: – Groups 1 and 2 solve the problem of drunk driving Groups 3 and 4 solve the problem of unhealthy eating Groups 5 and 6 solve the problem of workrelated stress

Discussions in groups round 1: 9.50 – round 2: – round 3: – Groups 1 and 2: find ways to make sure as many people as possible drive as drunk as possible Groups 3 and 4: find ways to make sure as many people as possible eat as unhealthy as possible Groups 5 and 6: find ways to make sure as many people as possible experience as much workrelated stress as possible

Collective evaluation round 1: – round 2: – round 3: – one spokesperson per group can comment on the ideas the group has generated per group - select the best idea the group has generated reverse this idea to come up with the best solution for the initial problem
