Introduction We decided that we would do the Spanish Armada as our Tudor enquiry project. We wanted to find out why the armada failed in their task to turn England Catholic. We also wanted to find out why the armada failed because Spain had more numbers and more men and the English had a small army and hardly any men.

A sailor’s life Sailor’s usually had one hot meal a day. They cooked the meals on the deck. They had some fresh food but most of their food was salted fish, meat and hard baked biscuits. Often the maggots and rats got the fresh food first. They took barrels of water and wine but soon the water turned bad and the wine turned sour.

Weapons and Armor On a ship there were about 50 handguns,250 longbows,300 pole arms,480 darts and 8000 arrows. The sometimes wore metal amour or brightly coloured tunics.

Jobs on board There were many jobs on board and these are some: pike men Cavalry Musketeer Halberdiers barbers. The ships had a variety of people on board.

Spain’s plan Spain’s plan was to take London, and they had an army ready to join up with the Armada. They also wanted to circle the whole of England so they couldn't escape. But the English sent fire ships to scare the Spanish. But the English attacked and took prisoners from the Spanish fleet and interrogated them. Eventually the English became victorious.
