Slant Rhyme Words that end in similar but not exact sounds Prove and love
End rhyme Rhyming words that fall at the ends of two or more lines This is typical of most poems with a rhyme scheme
Internal Rhyme Rhyming words placed within a line Internal rhyme does NOT count toward rhyme scheme. It only adds to the rhythm and meter of the poem. The mouse in the house woke the cat.
Stanza Types Most common in poetry: Couplet: 2 lines Tercet: 3 lines Quatrain: 4 lines
