Paul Revere: An American Patriot

Around what time in history did Paul Revere live?

1700s-before America was completely independent from Britain.

In what colony (state) did Revere live?

Massachusetts

How did geography influence/help the actions of Paul Revere?

He lived by the Boston Harbor. He was able to work as a silversmith because of people arriving on ships. He helped the colonists rebel against British (who came by ship)…he helped in Boston Tea Party…all of which needed the harbor.

What was the Boston Tea Party?

A group of colonists unhappy that Britain charged them high taxes threw tea into the Boston Harbor

How did the actions of the government influence Paul Revere?

He wasn’t happy that the government tried to control the colonists, didn’t let them vote on rules, and charged too much for taxes…so he rebelled.

How did Revere expand the rights and freedoms of people in our country?

He helped by boycotting the British’s rule. He warned colonists of the British troups…then he helped fight in the American Revolution…which helped America become free from Britain rule.

How did Revere show positive character traits?

Compassion: He risked his life to warn others about British troups, then fought in a battle.

Diligence: His job as a silversmith took a lot of hard work to finish products made from silver.

Bravery: He knew he could be caught by the British soldiers but still tried to warn his friends and fellow colonists.
