U.S. Imperialism Philippines By:Anthony DiPaolo

The US's interest in an empire There are three reasons why the US is interested in imperialism. They are the desire for money, build military bases and racial superiority.

What the US did in this territory. They wanted to give them more freedom and have them follow their rules. President McKinley thought the Philippines were to uncivilized to govern themselves.

What the US stand to gain by purchasing this territory The US wanted to control this territory but give the people who live their the freedom that Spain didn't give them. They gave them more control to them and not have everything controlled by the government.

How the US treated the natives of the territory. When the natives fought against the US for their freedom, the US imposed prison camps for Filipinos who they caught from the war.
