7 th Grade German Here is a short introduction of some events in German history.

The Start of World War I World war I started in the Balkans. On June 28, 1914, archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria- Hungary and his wife were murdered in Sarajevo, Bosnia- Herzegovina.

America Enters the War At the start of World War I, President Wilson had declared the neutrality of the United States. The sinking of the Lusitania and other German actions against civilians drew American sympathies to the Allies.

Celebration Time Cheering the end of world war I, on Nov. 11, The long, horrible war had taken the lives of nearly 10 million soldiers.
