Setting for “Othello” Center of commercialism. Ruled by law and order Italians considered wicked, murderous, loose morals. Women beautiful and “loose!!!!!” Men hot-tempered, jealous.

Venice and Cyprus

 Island 40 mi. south of Turkey  Birthplace of Goddess Aphrodite.  Turks attacked Cyprus, Venetian Possession.  Strategically located island but vulnerable to attack Cyprus
