Resurrection Is Essential to Faith 1 Cor. 15:17-19: –If Christ is not risen You are all still in your sins. Those who have fallen asleep have perished. We are of all men most pitiable. Therefore, faith in the resurrection of Christ is essential. But why? What is its significance?

Christ Resurrected to High Priest Heb. 10:12: Offered one sacrifice for sins forever Heb. 10:10: We have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ Heb. 9:14: Christ offered Himself without spot to God. When Christ do all of this? –At His crucifixion He offered Himself –At His resurrection and ascension He took that atoning blood into the presence of God for us. –He went into the True Holy of Holies to make atonement for men (1 John 2:1-2)

Conclusion Without the death of Christ there would have never been a sacrifice to remove sins. Without the resurrection of Christ there would not have been a High Priest able to atone for sins. But in Christ we have Both—therefore, from His resurrection His role in the Godhead is High Priest. But there is more…
