The Bread of Life  And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. Jn 6:35

St Cyril of Alexandria On Jn 6  For as if one took a spark and buried it amid much stubble, in order that the seed of fire preserved might lay hold on it, so in us too our Lord Jesus Christ hideth life through His Own Flesh, and inserts it as a seed of immortality, abolishing the whole corruption that is in us.

The Catholic Epistle  11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1 Jn 5:11,12

St. Cyril of Alexandria  "He who receives Communion is made holy and Divinized in soul and body in the same way that water, set over a fire, becomes boiling... Communion works like yeast that has been mixed into dough so that it leavens the whole mass;...Just as by melting two candles together you get one piece of wax, so, I think, one who receives the Flesh and Blood of Jesus is fused together with Him by this Communion, and the soul finds that he is in Christ and Christ is in him,”

Liturgy of St Cyril of Alexandria  Give your Ear, O Lord, and hear us, who now submit to you, cleanse our inner person as the purity of your Only Begotten son, He who we wish to partake of.

Application 1.Ask yourself ; is the Purity of His Begotten Son is a Target in my life? 2.Does communion become a just a blessed habit I my life? 3.What about liturgy after Liturgy? 4.Resurrection is a true unity with the Risen Lord in the Eucharist? Where are you ?

St Cyril of Alexandria  “If the poison of pride is swelling up in you, turn to the Eucharist; and that Bread, Which is your God humbling and disguising Himself, will teach you humility. If the fever of selfish greed rages in you, feed on this Bread; and you will learn generosity …..and the spotless Flesh of Christ will make you pure and chaste.”
