Presentation transcript:

What already happens and what will be new this year

 10 VIVOs for 100% attendance and punctuality every week  VIVOs for any outstanding charity work you do, participation in special events and competitions and recommendations from all staff  Jack Petchey Award winner every month–100 VIVOs  Jack Petchey nominations every month – 10 VIVOS  10 VIVOs for every Praise Card you receive added up at end of each term

 All teachers should be giving you stamps or stickers on your merit pages. If you got one merit from each teacher in a day that would be 7.  That would make 35 in a week.  That means in an average half term you could have earned a minimum of 245 merits!  80 merits equals 1 praise card.  245 equals 3 praise cards  So all in all that equals 30 VIVOs.  All just for being good and showing your teacher you are learning well in class – an expectation you should have of yourself: every lesson, every day, every week.

 Notre Dame Bronze Award:500 VIVOs  Notre Dame Silver Award: 1000 VIVOs  Notre Dame Gold Award:2000 VIVOs  Pupil of the term 5000  The top 3 pupils receiving merits/praise cards of each year group are awarded 500 VIVOs

 Good Progress and Achievement reports: merit 100 Vs, distinction 300 Vs, honours 500 Vs  100% Attendance and Punctuality over 3 years: 1000 Vs  Subject award and achievement: 500 Vs  Summa cum Laude (with the highest praise): 5000 Vs!  Magna cum laude (with great praise): 2000!

 Your Vs can go towards the PROM so it IS worth still collecting merits!!! Teachers like to reward good behaviour and learning!  Plus receiving awards looks good on application forms.

 Each half term, teachers are asked to nominate a pupil who they think deserves the Jack Petchey award.  All subject departments nominate a pupil who has shown one of the following attributes: Outstanding effort Academic achievement Excellent manners Outstanding behaviour  The winner receives 5 points towards the Notre Dame Award, £ to spend on something that will benefit them and the school, and the winner also gets 100 VIVO miles.  Each pupil NOMINATED also receives 10Vs.

More opportunities to be awarded VIVOs for showing the Five Simple Ways - to be announced. Each half term I will see who has had the most VIVOs awarded in each form class. These 5 pupils per year group will then be awarded bonus VIVOs.

 There are many things you can use your Vs for in the online shop at  Some pupils like to save up for bigger purchases.  And look out for the pop up stall at break on Tuesday 21 st October. Share your ideas for what you would like to receive VIVOs for and what things you would like to purchase from the VIVO shop.
