Who has better hand reflexes Short People or Tall People? By: Cristina Silva

Problem Who has better hand reflexes short or tall people?

Introduction I chose this experiment because I’ve always wondered things like this. Sometimes I wondered if shorter people had better reflexes because they tend to move faster. I’m not saying that tall people are slow but their muscles tend to just kind of move slower.

Background Information When I researched who has better reflexes on Google it came up with a lot of different web sites about their opinion so it was pretty hard to know who was better

Hypothesis I predicted that maybe shorter people have better reflexes because they have faster hands. If shorter people get it then that means that taller people have slow reflexes

Materials Laptop Ipod 3 tall people 3 shot people

Variables Independent = Tall vs. Short Testers Dependent = Reaction Time Controlled= Same test, Same amount from each heights, Same instructions

Procedure 1.I will take 1 at a time out of class then get a laptop. 2.Get website up and let them play for however long the game goes. 3.I will take tall people first than short people. 4.The next day I will get iPod and let them play a game on there see who has the highest score out of each group small or short.

Major Observations The tall people had the higher scores than short people

Results 7 th grade

Results 8th grade

Conclusion Well the results were very weird because their results were almost al the same. My hypothesis was not right because I thought short people would probably would have better scores but they mostly all had the same scores. Well it really wasn’t very interrupted because we went to a quite place.

Possible Applications You would be able to use this in life when you are doing something that uses reflexes and hands. And other than that I don’t know what else you’d use this for.
