Cooperation between countries or agencies Thai WEN - Thai Wildlife Enforcement Network first established in August2006 (Thailand National Task Force for ASEAN-WEN) Recently the Thai-WEN has 22 agencies* in collaborating to stop illegal wildlife trade and overall 155 checkpoints in Thailand enforcing illegal wildlife trade across borders Key implementing agencies: 1. Department of National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation 2. Department of Agriculture 3. Department of Fisheries 4. Royal Thai Customs 4. Natural Resources and Environmental Crime Suppression Division

MoUs established between MA and: – Scientific Authority – Customs – Police – Private sector bodies Government playing an active role in encouraging cooperation at national and international level in particular bilateral cooperation with neighboring country where wildlife crime has been occurred heavily, i.e. Lao PDR and Malaysia Supports relevant intergovernmental organization such as CITES and INTERPOL by hosting various meeting including CITES CoP, INTERPOL Wildlife Crime Working Group, etc., and actively participates in INTERPOL’s Executive committee Building acceptance and recognition of wildlife crime as a serious transnational organized crime among ASEAN Community by proposing the inclusion of wildlife crime as a priority crime area under ASEAN Framework on Transnational Crime (ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Transnational Crimes) Meetings between agencies
