Reading: Our phonics work is long vowel /a/, as in break/they/weigh, as well as inflections –er/-est. We will review making inferences for our comprehension strategy. The fluency focus is phrasing. Weekly story: “The Lizard and the Sun.” Math: We will wrap up our unit on measurement using customary lengths and begin our unit on the metric system. Social Studies: We will learn about Earth’s resources. Writing: We will be doing a prompt writing piece to work on conventions. April 27 – May 1, 2015 Our weekly ticket winner: Jada Our Week Week ly Event s 2 nd Grade Rocks! Please take a few minutes to practice basic math facts (0- 20). Our fluency needs work!
