Urban and Suburban Farming Mrs. Stacie Telnock Computer Applications Teacher Dunmore Middle School, Dunmore PA

The Natural State of Things Grow, produce, replace If left alone, plants would take over Earth. Instead of paying for your lawn, make your lawn work for you.

Unlimited Potential

Size Does NOT Matter Size is unimportant: it is all about the plan Light and soil: observe before you plant Change is GREAT

Useful and Unique Raised beds - great for poor soil The higher the bed, the easier to weed From useless to useful dirt is not needed under a tall raised bed

You do not need any land at all to farm! Check out these rooftop gardens in and around NYC!

The High Line in Manhattan A no-longer used rail track and bridge through the city

If you have a little space but no lawn …you can still farm!

And if you DO have some yard, sky is the limit (no joke!)

Just a little corner? Grow tomatoes! Small back yard? How about a flock of chickens with your salad!

Combination Backyard Farming: Food and Livestock Small yard? No problem!

Wouldn’t your backyard be more exciting?

Chicken tractors are all the rage!

If chickens just aren’t enough for your family… Adding these should really get your goat(s)!

Maybe a back yard fish farm is more your speed!

Or maybe you have something different in mind…

Before & AfterBefore & After Doesn’t take long to feel good about your choice!

Less mow, More grow! Makes sense, right?

You can have your cake and eat it, too…

Wasted space to AWESOME in a day or two! Gardeners like to share! Ask people who garden if they have any plants to spare!

Help Earth do what it is meant to do! Grow plants and animals for us to live!
