Playground Boundaries From the Office (Mrs. Garbutt and Mrs. Curtis)

At last week's Staff meeting, we all discussed the boundaries for students who are playing in the yard. We tried to keep safety in our minds but we also wanted to make sure that student’s enjoy the new additions to the playground. This is what we decided…

The area beside Mrs. Straicher’s portable (P 2) is open for passive play. So is the sidewalk and grass beside the sidewalk on the Daycare side of the yard.

The soccer field’s designations that stated at the beginning of the school year will remain the same. We request that some students tone down their level of play for safety sake.

The black top areas and newly painted play areas will be left as “conversational co-operation” “conversational co-operation” areas for now. As long as students seem to be playing where they want and they are sharing fairly and safely, we will let student’s play without a schedule.

The new yellow line painted close to the school should be a visual reminder to students to stand behind it while you are waiting to go inside for drinks or to the washroom. Please do not cross this line to look in windows or bother others in the school either. You should also line up behind that yellow line while waiting for your teacher after the bell.

Enjoy the new additions to your play area and play time! From Mrs. Garbutt and Mrs. Curtis
