About It’s time to make our Union stronger. It’s time to rebuild our power. It’s time to show our communities we believe in them and they should believe in us. The GimmeFIVE Program GimmeFIVE recruits and engages members in a new and innovative mobilizing program to organize, build power and win justice for our union and communities. “GimmeFIVE” is a National program designed to increase activism, to mobilize for collective action, and to improve our capacity to communicate to members regularly on issues activities etc. This program is designed to amplify the efforts of the UAW Regions, as well as the International Union.

Why “GimmeFIVE”? When We Stand Together, We Win. A major challenge that we face across the labor movement is to illustrate to the broader public, that the union movement is a vital leader in the fight for economic change. Key to meeting that challenge is engaging union members who are not currently active in their Local unions by mobilizing around contract fights and broad policy issues that impact the lives of families in our communities. “Organizing the organized” is an important step if we want to raise the UAW’s public image, build our power and win the fights that we will face in the coming years.

How does it work? The members make this program work by working together and re-committing ourselves to our union. “GimmeFIVE”. UAW members will be asked to commit to volunteer in the union’s organizing, political, and bargaining mobilization campaigns, as well as recruit other members to do the same. 1.Members will be asked to participate and complete five (5) different Activities in each of the following areas: Organizing, Mobilizing, Community Involvement and Political Action. Members will also be asked to recruit Five (5) other UAW members to participate in “GimmeFIVE”. 2.Members will receive recognition after they have participated in five (5) Activities in each area and/or recruited five (5) other members. Members must report their activities to the GimmeFIVE program to receive credit and button earned. 3.GimmeFIVE members can report their activities the same way they joined, thru text or by Fax or on the GimmeFIVE website,

Program Description The GimmeFIVE Mobilization Program will recognize activist for their commitment and hard work. It will specifically ask members to commit to: 1.Sign up for the “GimmeFIVE” Program and immediately receive a GimmeFIVE official program button and a pocket card with details about the program. 2.Participate in Five (5) Activities of work supporting new member organizing = receive the ORGANIZE Button 3.Participate in FIVE (5) Activities of mobilization activities to support fights for worker’s justice = receive the MOBILIZE 4.Participate in FIVE (5) Activities of CAP work = receive JUSTICE Button 5.Participate in FIVE (5) Community involvement activities = receive the COMMUNITY Button 6.Sign up FIVE (5) other UAW members for the “GimmeFIVE” Program = receive the POWER Button Our hope is that the “GimmeFIVE” program’s national scope, use of new technology, and increased participation will generate renewed commitment for the work of our union and broadcast our greater solidarity to the public.
