It is important to understand the difference between count and uncount nouns…

...Example... - A cup - A girl - An egg - A pound … etc

… Example… - Water - Milk - Money - Weather … etc

..We can say.. -Four cups.. -Two apple.. But.. We can’t say.. -Three water.. -Five milk..

Count nouns can be singular or plural … Example.. This cup is full..* *These cups are empty..

Uncount nouns can only be singular.. The water is cold..

Some is use in positive Sentences … I’d like some cake …

Any is use in questions and negatives … *Is there any sugar in this coffee..? *We didn’t take any photos..

We use some in questions that are requests or offers.. *Would you like some tea..? *Can I have some cake..?

The rules are the same for the compounds,,, someone..anything..somewhere….etc

..Example.. I’ve got something for you.. Hello..? Is anybody here..?
